Taking out the Compost and Going to the Zoo

Calum really enjoys helping me take out the compost. It could be carrying something in a bucket, it could be opening a lid and dumping something in, or it might be just because it is dirty. Whatever it is, he loves to do it and points up to the container on the counter and goes "uhhh"

This was our first trip to the Zoo. Isn't wasn't a very successful trip. Many of the animals were napping, so we tried to focus on the active, big, hard to miss animals. Here I'm trying to point out the elephant, but notice Calum is pointing out the duck. We didn't come to the zoo to see the ducks!!! Next was the Hippo, hard to miss right? Not so much. Calum was more interested in picking up the leaves on the ground. My fault probably, as we tend to pick up a lot of leaves in our backyard!!

Polar bear Polar bear what do you hear? For those of you familiar with Eric Carle's books... I hear Calum starting to throw a tantrum, that's what I hear!!! Time to leave the zoo, next time, when he's a little older, we'll try it again!
Calum is really into books right now, also notice how we are both matching and into our tie-dyes!!

Calum and His Great Grandpa

Many of you blog followers may remember seeing this picture. This was the first time I got to meet and be held by my great grandpa. I'm so lucky to have met such a wonderful man. Unfortunately, a few weeks ago, he left us to go to a better place. Like I said, I'm so lucky to have known him, not very many people get to spend time with their great grandparents. My great grandpa really enjoyed my blog. He thought it was really neat to follow me as I grew up, and thought I was one of the most photographed kids he had ever seen!! Great grandpa, this blog post is dedicated to you.

As you can see, there is a gap in pictures. As I grew bigger, I didn't want to sit still long enough for a good shot, but my great grandpa always wanted to hold me.

My mom getting my shoes on.

Me and my Uncle Stephen all dressed and ready to go to the visitation. Even though it was a sad event, it was nice seeing and being with all my family.

I am infatuated with dogs! I am looking out the window trying to find Smokey.
